1.Information we collect

Information you provide

• Phone number — to create your account and sign in with a one-time passcode. HOHA does not use passwords.
• Profile — display name, @handle, and optional bio, status, avatar photo, and accent colour.
• Circle details (optional) — schools/colleges/employers you add, with the years you attended, and optionally your birth year. Your birth year is used only to find people around your age and is never shown on your public profile.
• Content you create — messages, voice and video calls, photos and files you send, polls, and — only if you choose to share it — your location.

Information from your device (only with permission)

• Contacts (optional) — if you use "find friends", contact phone numbers are hashed on your device and only the hashes are checked against our members. We do not upload or store your raw contacts.
• Push token — a device notification token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) to deliver notifications.
• Camera & microphone — used only during voice/video calls and to scan QR invite codes; not accessed otherwise.

Information collected automatically

• Usage & presence — online status, lounge membership, and activity needed to power presence.
• Device & diagnostics — app/OS version, device identifiers, IP address, and crash/diagnostic data to keep the app stable.

2.How we use your information

• Provide and operate HOHA — accounts, sign-in, lounges, chat, and calls.
• Show presence and deliver notifications according to your notification and Disturb / Do-Not-Disturb schedules.
• Suggest relevant people for your circle, based on shared affiliations and years, or an age range you choose.
• Keep HOHA safe — moderation, abuse prevention, and enforcing our Terms.
• Provide support and send you important service information.

We rely on your consent and on what is necessary to provide the service you request. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

3.Realtime services and third parties

We use trusted providers to run the service, and we do not sell your personal data or share it with advertisers.

• ConnectyCube — powers realtime chat and voice/video. Your messages and call media are processed through ConnectyCube's infrastructure, which may be located outside India.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — delivers push notifications, and crash reporting if enabled.
• Google Cloud Platform — hosts our servers and database in India.

4.What other members can see

HOHA is a social app: your display name, @handle, avatar, presence, and circle activity are visible to other members as the app is designed — for example, people in your lounges and circle. Your phone number and birth year are never shown to other users.

5.Where data is stored, and for how long

Your account and the content HOHA stores reside in India (asia-south1). Realtime message and call data is processed by ConnectyCube (see §3). We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account we delete your profile and content, except limited records we must keep for legal, security, or abuse-prevention purposes (for example, abuse reports), which are retained only as long as necessary and then deleted.

6.Your rights and choices

Subject to India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable law, you can:

• Access and correct your profile in the app.
• Export your data from the app's settings.
• Delete your account in the app, or via our web request page: Delete your account.
• Control permissions (contacts, microphone, camera, location, notifications) in your device settings.
• Withdraw consent by deleting your account.

7.Children

HOHA is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

8.Security

We protect data in transit using encryption (TLS) and limit access on a need-to-know basis. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
